Gas Contract Services Ltd., were incorporated as a company on the 8th of July in 1997 and commenced trading on the 1st November of that year. The company’s formation was as a direct result of the decision made by British Gas during a reorganisation to cease its involvement in the gas maintenance and installation contract management field. The founding directors of the company were at that time all employed by British
Gas as Contract Managers, operating primarily throughout Kent, for a number of core Clients and serving their needs in respect of a contract management service for their gas maintenance and installation contracts.
 
The Directors of Gas Contract Services Ltd. successfully negotiated to take most of this work over from British Gas and where it was not possible for British Gas to withdraw immediately from some contracts then the work was sub-contracted by British Gas to Gas Contract Services. All of these original customers became clients of Gas Contract Services and they remain so today some six year later.
 
Since that time and being freed from the constraints and bureaucracy of a large organisation the range of services has been developed considerably and the customer base and operational area has widened. There are now nearly twenty staff employed by the company to provide the administrative back up and on site resources needed to effectively manage and support the services provided. We adopt a flexible approach to easily tailor the service packages to give Clients the services they want. The company recognises the importance of costs and believe that apart from offering a range of fairly unique quality services these services should be very cost effective and offer exceptional value for money.
 
Throughout the years of successful trading the company has invested heavily in new technology and equipment and our quality engineers are probably better equipped than most service and installation engineers. We are, in consultation with our IT providers, developing our own unique databases to more adequately monitor contractors performance and store greater and more detailed information to more effectively manage our client’s contracts and enable more succinct reporting.
 
As a business primarily operating within the gas appliance installation and maintenance sector we are committed to increasing the standards of gas safety and the quality of work contractors provide to our Clients. The importance of customer service is also recognised and a large focus is placed on this in our quality inspections. The customer service section of our service inspection record illustrates this and there are
similar records completed on site for all other types of quality inspection carried out. These are constantly evolving to meet new needs. Our presence demonstrably improves both technical and customer service quality standards.
 
In summary Gas Contract Services has grown considerably since its formation both in operational areas and the range of services we can provide. Our customer base now extends throughout, London, Essex, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. This growth has all been achieved by word of mouth and recommendation and we are confident that we provide the best quality value for money service in our market.
